CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow lead from Head Baker and work alongside the rest of the back of house team to efficiently prep, scale, mix, portion, shape, proof, and bake-off a variety of baked goods including breads, viennoiserie, cookies and cakes.
Execute consistently according to prescribed recipes and standards.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, adhering to sanitation/health regulations and company policy. Follow NYDOH food handling practices.
Set a positive tone for the team/bakery for the day.
Demonstrate a willingness to perform occasional small duties to aid other team members and bakery as a whole.
AT LEAST 2+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL BAKING EXPERIENCE, PLUS:
Early morning shift begins at 4AM weekdays, weekends and some holidays (approx 40 hours per week).
NYC Food Protection Certificate is a plus or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Able to work in a standing position for periods of 3-5 hours without a rest break
Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners. Strong interpersonal skills.
COMPENSATION: $19-$23 (based on experience)
